Late Tuesday night, the world was dealt a devastating blow when it was announced that legendary comedian and actor John Witherspoon had passed away at age 77. His son, JD Witherspoon broke the news on Twitter, sending shock waves through social media, with tributes pouring in from fans and entertainers alike. John Witherspoon is best known for his roles as “Pops” in hit TV-sitcom, The Wayans Bro’s, which aired for five seasons, as well as the Friday franchise. He also provided the distinct voice for the character Cantankerous Robert “Granddad” Freeman in the controversial animated series, “The Boondocks”, which has been in talks of making a comeback.
